When I first started working with Carol, I didn’t realize that most of the problems in my life were being caused by me and the way I was brought up to communicate with others. After my first meeting with Carol I realized that she was a person who I could trust and who could help me learn and grow as a person. After that I looked forward to my sessions with her every week.

Carol has a great understanding of people, and she made me feel that she knew and understood me and my problems, and she did so without ever judging me. I liked the interaction that we had at our sessions and I always felt I got something out of them every week.To be really good at something you have to love what you are doing and I always felt that Carol really and truly enjoyed helping me learn and grow as a person.

After completing my counseling with Carol my life has been changed for the better and hopefully forever. I have noticed much more success and happiness in my personal life as well as my professional life. But most of all I feel great about how I live my life each and every day, and how I interact with others and how I make them feel.

To learn to understand other people and their needs helps you in every aspect of life and I believe is the biggest step in living a peaceful and meaningful life. I would highly recommend Carol to anyone who is serious about wanting to change their life for the better.

When I started working with Carol, I couldn’t put my finger on what I wanted to work on. I was confused about certain things in my life, and I needed someone who I trusted to guide me in the right direction.

There were many things that I enjoyed about our work together. The one thing that sticks out the most was I never felt like I was being judged. I felt comfortable saying just about anything. I always felt comfortable.

The most important things I learned are the specific skills and techniques for improving my ability to communicate. Learning to identify what I'm feeling and needing has helped me a great deal. I wouldn't have known any of this if it weren't for Carol. Also learning to empathize with other people has improved my relationships a lot. And having a good idea of what other people are feeling and needing in certain situations has helped me become less judgmental of others.

I would like to add that you (Carol) have been one of the most influential people in my life. You have helped me a great deal, and you truly care about other people and their well being.

I came to Carol because I wasn’t happy with the level of communication with my husband. We just seemed to be moving along in the same house but not really together. I loved how Carol was able to help my husband express himself versus avoiding the questions as he used to do. She really made him come back to himself and look deep inside for the answers.

My husband and my communication skills have really improved. Before when I asked my husband a question, he usually would take offense to it and now he sees that I am trying to have a conversation about something. He is much more open and not feeling like he is being attacked all the time. We are trying different communication skills and the non violent communication technique Carol taught us seem to be helping.

I came to a Compassionate Communication workshop because I am a parent who wanted a better relationship with my children. I realized most of the time as parents we get into the habit of just telling our children what to do. This isn’t a good way to develop a relationship with anyone. Carol’s teachings showed me how to approach my children with respect and caring and not from the place of a dictator. This helped to open my eyes to other options where in some cases I saw no option. I also found it useful in communicating with my husband. It really carries over to all areas of your life.

I enjoyed Carol because she is so open and honest. There was no doubt in my mind that she was truly interested in what others were feeling and their thoughts.

I think everyone should take a workshop with Carol because it clearly demonstrates how most of us don't take the time to truly listen and understand where others may be coming from. We all feel better when we know that someone is truly listening.

As a single mother, it was really hard for me to discipline my kids and I felt so overwhelmed all the time. I found myself yelling at them to try and get them to listen to me. It wasn’t working too well.

I saw Carol’s ad in the local paper, and I loved the idea of having joy and peace in my life, two things that I didn’t have. I was also struggling with getting back together with my ex-husband, and even though I knew it wasn’t a good idea.

I couldn’t believe how she really listened to me. In my first session, I talked almost without taking a breath and she never took her eyes off of me. For the first time in my life I really felt listened to and that someone cared.

She never told me what to do, but I always left our sessions feeling hopeful and with some kind of an idea to help me work on. My kids saw the difference right away. Instead of telling them what they had to do, I listened to them and tried to put myself in their shoes. There was so much less yelling going on.

Carol also gave me great things to think about like how un-empowering it was when I kept talking about what I “had” to do. She helped me to see that I had choices and that I didn’t “have” to do all the things I told myself I did. I never thought about so many things that I do automatically until you pointed them out to me. I still stop and think about those kinds of things everyday.

I now definitely have more joy peace and calm in my life as a result of working with Carol.

Carol, I am really grateful for meeting you and working with you. I always looked forward to our sessions and I want to stay in touch. I worked with other people in the past, but because you were so caring and also gave me skills, I think this time I really did improve.

I hired Carol because I felt I needed support in dealing with my divorce. Working with her taught me how to understand my feelings, communicate them to people without blame and she also showed me how to understand other people’s perspectives. I loved how she gets right to the point and kept me focused on what I wanted to achieve in our sessions. She always had great suggestions and new ways of looking at things. And she really seems to walk her talk and exude empathy (a new word for me!) in our sessions.

Before working with Carol I struggled with how I spoke with my children and husband. I knew I could communicate better but it just wasn’t happening. The most surprising thing I learned from our work together is how easily miscommunications can happen. Her ability to gently break down my “communication walls” has shown me that there are always two sides to the story and now I know not to interrupt what my family says and instead talk with them to understand them before I jump to conclusions. My relationship with my daughters has greatly improved. In fact my family as a result of working with Carol is much closer. We are able to approach each other without all the conflict and definitely have much more compassion for each others feelings and needs.

I just want to say a big great “THANK YOU” to you Carol. Your ability is to bring out the best in people and help them resolve their issues or at least understand them and to communicate better. Your patience and bringing your own life stories and humor into the sessions made me feel normal and that this is how life is – it’s how we handle and interpret most of the situations that makes the differene. You showed me that you are really dedicated from the heart and not just running a business.

I was one of those guys that nothing ever bothered me. But my wife said I had to go see Carol or else. Carol taught my family how to express their feelings in a way that doesn’t upset us all. Now, dinner time at our house is much more than “how was work?” We actually talk to each other and listen and I share my opinion and have great conversation with my family. In fact I still use the skills and techniques you taught for communicating, both at home and at work.

Before working with Carol I was having difficulty at my job due to my supervisor, career dilemmas, and anxiety. What was really helpful about working with Carol was that she truly listened to me and then put into words what she understood me to be feeling, which was helpful because it was always true and honest. She was kind, gentle, soothing, patient, and a real comfort! I now have much more confidence in expressing myself and feel more calm and peaceful.

Carol always knew how to make me feel comforted, secure, accepted, and understood. She was such a wonderful voice and face to be around. She was with me at a time when I felt insecure, unsure, and lost. Carol always validated my feelings and made me feel so much better!!! I will always be thankful for our time together. Carol is a gem and blessing to those who have known her either their whole life or even just a day.

When I began working with Carol, I was feeling really stressed, anxious and angry. It was a lot to deal with raising my children, working and going to school, My moods were causing real problems with my children and all of my relationships. Carol really helped me learn to control my anger towards others by teaching me how to be compassionate. She gave me a whole new perspective on how to deal with others that took away the stress, anxiety, and anger.

After working with Carol I felt that I had better communication skills, I became a better parent, I found myself controlling my anger and building solid relationships with my family, friends, and co-workers. I noticed that I developed patience with people while I was shopping, and I found for the first time in my life that I could be compassionate towards myself and other people. I know that what I learned is going to be so helpful, not only in my personal life, but also in my professional life when I become a social worker.

I thank Carol profoundly for all she has done for me already. While she did a wonderful job helping me develop skills, she also provided me with resources and reading material to help me better understand the techniques she teaches. She really cares about the people she works with and is always willing to try to accommodate scheduling. Her office is so beautiful, serene, and peaceful. It is a very relaxing environment.
